Damn the Man
We’ve all said it before, “Damn the Man!” Or, we have all said something to that effect. Most of the time “the man” is big business. The credit card companies for raking up our interest rates, the banks for their ridiculous overdraft and ATM fees, big box stores that put the little people out of business, and heath care providers for jacking up our rates and cutting off people when they are sick and need insurance the most. So, why then if we all agree “the man” is not on our side do people still support politicians that are blatantly and obviously working on behalf of the man?
In February, the Wall Street Journal featured an article titled, “GOP Chases Wall Street Donors.” The article is about the Republicans going after big business money, because these Republicans are looking out for big business. The article states, “…Republicans are striving to make the case that they are banks’ best hope of preventing President Barack Obama and congressional Democrats from cracking down on Wall Street.”
If I knew nothing, or cared to know nothing about politics, then I wouldn’t vote for these GOP goons based solely on the fact that they are openly working for “the man”. They do not believe in reform. Republicans believe big business should have free range to do what they want when they want. You were alive over the last few years, you can see where that gets us.
The Republicans want money for their campaigns, and a really good job in the private sector once they leave office. Is that who you want making decisions on your behalf?
