$500,000 to defend DOMA a.k.a anti-gay marriage law

Firm hired to defend DOMA in court calls it quits.

of course this headline on MSNBC.com caught my eye. Is spending $500,000 of tax payer money to defend a hateful law really the direction this country should take? How does this “create jobs”. The lawyers already have a job.
